E.K.R.

E.K.R. was a rap trio from New York City that formed in the mid-1990s. The group consisted of R.A. the Rugged Man, Keith Murray, and Xzibit, who came together around a shared interest in hip-hop. They put out their first album, "Time2Kill," in 1998.

Their track "Yall Smoke Weed Overthere?" from that debut became something of a calling card. The song's blunt title and straightforward delivery gave it an immediate, unpolished appeal that connected with listeners at the time.

E.K.R. followed up with several more albums through the early 2000s, including "High Caliber" in 1999 and "Street Certified" the next year. The group's lyrics often dealt directly with street life, which sometimes drew criticism, but they generally stuck to their own approach without much compromise.
