El Vislumbre formed in Mexico City in the early 2000s, a group of childhood friends who started playing together. Their debut album 'Sueños de Luna' came out in 2004 and included what became their signature song, 'Ay ay ay Cuando.' That track caught on with listeners and helped establish them.
They followed with several more albums over the next decade and a half, including 'Almas Perdidas' in 2007, 'Eclipse' in 2010, and 'Alma de Ciudad' in 2018. Other songs like 'Cuando Revivan Las Brujas' and 'Pelusitas de Totora' became part of their catalog. In 2009, lead singer Javier Aguilar dealt with a vocal cord injury that sidelined him for a while before he returned to performing.
