Ela e o Bando started as a duo in São Paulo around 2011, with vocalist Juliana Amaral and guitarist Carol Duarte. They took their name from the Portuguese phrase meaning 'She and the Band.' Their early years weren't easy, with little financial backing and some industry skepticism, but they kept at it.
In 2013 they put out a debut EP called 'Vem Dançar,' and two years later came their first full album, 'Carpe Diem.' That record, anchored by the song 'Carpe Diem,' got them wider attention in Brazil. They followed it with albums like 'Nave' in 2018 and 'Mistério' in 2021. Other songs people know include 'Cartas Jogadas' and 'Rebobine Por Favor.'
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
