Elemento X formed in Brazil in 1985, with Camilo Faustino as vocalist. They came together after the earlier band X-Tremo ended. Their first album came out in 1987, simply called 'Elemento X'.
In 1992, the single 'Misericórdia' became a major hit for them. The song's lyrics and Faustino's delivery connected with listeners, pushing it up the charts. Other songs like 'Plena Realidade' and 'Senhor de Todos Nós' also became part of their catalog.
Their 2003 album 'Era uma Vez' showed the band working with rock, funk, and Brazilian rhythms. They wrote about various themes, but kept making music that their audience recognized.
