Elenium formed in Poland in 2003, with members coming from the band Obscurity. Their lineup included vocalist Michał "Xaay" Loranc, guitarist Adam "Nergal" Darski, bassist Maciej "Rogol" Rogalski, and drummer Paweł "Paul" Kolasa. They released their debut album "The Sin of Man" the following year.
Over the next decade, they put out several albums including "Ashes" in 2006, "Reclaim" in 2008, "Enigma" in 2010, and "Simulacrum" in 2013. Their music often explores darker themes, like in the song "Aeoneurosis" which deals with existential despair. Other tracks in their catalog include "Contemplation," "Internal Whiteness," "Martyria," and "Mediterranean Past."
In 2009, the band had a legal dispute with guitarist Adam "Nergal" Darski after he left to focus on his other band Behemoth. The matter was eventually resolved. The group's current lineup features Michał "Xaay" Loranc on vocals and Maciej "Rogol" Rogalski on bass.
