Elephant

Elephant formed in the early 2000s around vocalist Simon Munroe and guitarist James Gow, later adding bassist Will White and drummer Alex White. Their debut album 'The Age of Innocence' came out in 2003, with the title track becoming a signature song that captured a particular kind of wistfulness about youth.

That album established their sound - atmospheric indie rock with Munroe's distinctive vocals at the center. Songs like 'Danse, Danse' and 'A Wizard's Destiny' showed their range within that framework, from driving rhythms to more contemplative arrangements.

They followed up with albums like 'In the Wilderness' in 2006 and 'Nothing Lasts Forever' in 2009, maintaining a consistent output through the decade. Munroe's lyrics often dealt with personal themes that resonated with their audience, though the band's lineup saw changes in their later years.
