Background notes

Archive material and source history

Elephants and Crayons formed in Los Angeles in the early 2000s around childhood friends Alex Callon and Adam Mignanelli. They released their debut EP 'The Elephant in the Room' in 2004. Their song 'Hold On' became a breakout single that helped push them toward a wider audience.

Their albums 'In Between the Cracks' from 2006 and 'The Color of Noise' from 2008 both landed in the top 20 charts. In 2009, Callon was arrested for drug possession, which led to a brief hiatus from touring. The band returned in 2012 with the album 'The Art of Letting Go'.
