In 2005, his song "A Salsa Brasileira" became popular. It mixes salsa rhythms with Brazilian styles. Other songs of his include "Afoxé do Mangue" and "Blues da Minha Garota."

His debut album was self-titled. The music has faced some criticism about blending traditions, but he has kept making it.
