Eliot Morris formed in London around 2012 with Tom Hodgson, Chris Holland, David McEwan, and Jack Burton. They put out a debut EP called 'Held Together' that year. The band built a following through live shows that were often described as intimate and emotionally direct.

In 2016, their single 'Anyway' became a breakthrough. The song's straightforward lyrics and melody connected with listeners, though some critics questioned whether the band's emotional approach was too polished for the mainstream. They kept writing in that vein anyway, with songs like 'Infancy Of Us' and 'Balancing The World' following similar patterns of personal reflection.
