She recorded several notable albums including 'Elis & Tom' in 1974 and 'Essa Mulher' in 1979. She worked with musicians like Ron Carter on bass, Airto Moreira on percussion, and Hermeto Pascoal on keyboards. She died in 1982 at age 36.
