Hailing from the humble neighborhood of Zona Leste in São Paulo, he honed his skills as a keyboard player in local bands. It was during this time that he forged an unbreakable bond with lead singer Jair Rodrigues, a man whose soulful vocals would later become synonymous with their signature sound.
In 1986, Banda Kalifórnia was born. The band's eclectic lineup featured elements of samba, funk, and rock, creating a unique blend that defied categorization.
The Controversial Rise of "Cê Que Sabe"
In 1988, Banda Kalifórnia released their debut album, "O Último Capítulo," which featured the now-legendary track "Cê Que Sabe." The song's haunting melody and introspective lyrics ignited a firestorm of controversy. Critics denounced its raw and sensual themes, while audiences embraced its emotional resonance.
