Ellen Milgrau came up in São Paulo and put out her first album, 'Asa,' in 2006. Her second album, 'Caçamba Fashion,' arrived in 2012, and its title track became a kind of anthem for her. She's also known for songs like 'Linda e Louca' and 'Esperando No Lounge.'
Her music pulls from different places, some alternative rock, some folk, some electronica, but it's mostly held together by her voice and the personal, sometimes raw feel of the writing. She works with a band that includes Rodrigo Campos on guitar and vocals, Thiago Rocha on bass, and Pedro Mamede on drums.
Milgrau keeps a low profile and doesn't do many interviews, which has added to her reputation as a somewhat private figure. She released albums in 2015 ('Três') and 2019 ('Desastre'), but the sound she established earlier, especially on 'Caçamba Fashion,' is what people tend to come back to.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
