Elvis Nazário was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1971. He started playing music early, forming a band called Os Magnatas when he was 14. His first album came out in 1999, but it was his second album, Fantasia, that really caught on. The title track from that album became his most recognizable song.
Fantasia came out in 2001 and gave him a solid hit. Other songs like Flua, which featured Milla Sampaio, and Inevitável also got attention. His music had a straightforward pop appeal that worked on radio.
In 2014, he was arrested after an incident involving a photographer. He kept making music afterward, but that episode became part of his story. He recorded songs like Não Vai Embora and Refém in the years that followed.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
