Emerson Risoa was a band from Buenos Aires, Argentina, with Emerson Mena on vocals, Riossa Fernández on guitar, Manuel Samso on bass, and Gabriel Martínez on drums. They released their first album 'Criatura Divina' in 2003, which included the song of the same name that became their most recognizable track.
Their music mixed rock with tango and Argentine folk elements, which some critics initially resisted. The band followed with albums like 'Corazón del Cielo' in 2006 and 'La Leyenda' in 2010, the latter exploring Argentine mythology. Other songs in their catalog include 'Palhaço Equilibrista' and 'Roda Gigante'.
Mena's reserved stage presence and abstract lyrics sometimes drew attention away from the music itself. The band's final album 'El Silencio' in 2015 took a more experimental direction before they stopped recording together.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
