Warn and withered in my prime

I was old before my time

Those afternoon delights

Black and white, washed

In florescent candle light

Thought to share my point of view

With a picture that I drew

Bare for all to see

It was me

Dancing free in naivety

But they waited at the gates

Teeth bared and eyes ablaze

Spitting out venom flavored praise

And I started to believe

The words spoke in deceit were something true

Now look at what I have turned in to
