PART I: Prologue

Legion sleep, the night has fallen

Every day it seems all hope will fade

Dreams are torn and hearts are broken

I live these lines and write them day by day

And I hope one day we'll find a sign of peace

and free our minds from the War

and leave all pain behind

Too many promises we've heard along the way...

But for the hope that remains, we carry on

and await the day the shadow disappears

On that day the Lords will fall

PART II: Theme of the Legion

(instrumental)

PART III: Through the Province

The last free town prevailed, but truth behind that triumph

was stranger than the rumors that we'd heard before

The Head was found that day, it spoke to us and helped us

It seemed to want to lead us to the truth of all in the ruins...

We found the hidden tome and in the hour of darkness

I read about the future world in grief and woe

And from the city ruins we fled towards the mountains

into a tunnel that would help elude the foe

Thus, from that day...

through the wind and snow we're marching on

Now on our way across the realm

(for the armies of the North)

where tyrant's rule remains

(through the heathland striving forth in fury)

forgotten be his name...

And as we left the plains where freedom used to reign

we knew we might not see our home again

And as we journeyed through the Province now in flames

We knew the quest had just begun...

Two days underground... meanwhile it turned to the winter

We heard the Fallen were approaching us before

And while the Champions set out to free our captured leader

we were to seek the arm that once belonged to a Fallen Lord

Through the wind and snow we're marching on

Now on our way across the realm

(for the armies of the North)

where tyrant's rule remains

(through the heathland striving forth in fury)

forgotten be his name...

And as we left the plains where freedom used to reign

we knew we might not see our home again

And as we journeyed through the Province now in flames

We knew the quest had just begun

Oh, we knew the quest had just begun...

PART IV: Captured in Stone

I can feel it's spring again, we're on the move once more

We have come down from the mountains, it's the 18th year of the war

Now we're camped before the woodland realm and I feel a bit unease

When a scout emerges through the forest, crashing out from the trees

The Fallen, drawing near...!

so it begins as their hordes appear

Troops of war we're able to withstand...

but the Fallen Lord has something else in hand

What took place before my eyes, still remains unknown

But as I raise my head and glance around me, we are Captured in Stone

There are signs of ancient evil beings once trapped within these walls

We refuse to share their fate, believe me, I can hear freedom call

Yes, we will find a way out of this maze

Time stands still as we roam these dismal caves

Moments pass, a world shatters in his hand

And we will last in a future king's command

There's a structure made of skulls of men, a horrifying sight

Atop, a tattered standard of an ancient might

"Something tells me...

we'll see it once more before the end"

Yes, we will find a way out of this maze

Time stands still as we roam these dismal caves

Moments pass, a world shatters in his hand

And we will last in a future king's command

PART V: Northbound

(instrumental)

PART VI: Before the Gates of Hell

On the road... I keep on writing

Death and pain my weary hands convey

Through the marsh we've roamed on fighting

Now we're here, our journey ends today

Only hours until sunrise

The Legion wait for their demise

As I turn my head I realize...

I stand Before the Gates of Hell

PART VII: Finale (At the Fortress)

Here we wait for the dawn

and behold the Fortress rise ahead

As the rays of the sunlight fall

the Legion's blood, it will be shed

I was chosen for the plan

and if we prevail we may survive

as the rest of the Legion's men

engage the Fallen one last time

There's a half-a-million foe

from here to the stronghold

Not a single one of us survive

Die is cast...

and twenty-hundred men fight to the last

Meanwhile the standard we found in the caves

is brought to the field and before the Fortress raised

And now we wait in the midst of the war

"Keep in mind that he has been killed before..."

As the light fades away

from the heathland phantom's way

In the end of all dismay

a new dawn will then await...

One display, one domain,

different fates and different names

But the soul - just one - remains,

a single everlasting flame

And every hero's one and the same...

Time goes by but some things last

And the standard did provoke his past

The field behind was turning red...

as we took his life and cut off his head

The Legion lay in pools of blood

the battle's lost but the War is won

The sun is rising from behind the fort...

By the sword we've turned the page of time

and the dark alliance of the Lords:

shattered with the mastermind.

Now the one who seemed to rule them all...

his remains lie headless on the ground

And the rest of them will face downfall

for they will be hunted down...

All, behold the Ruler of the Fallen Lords!

As foretold, we removed him from his throne

See his head in endless darkness fall,

Rule of death... it will reign this land no more

And after all the strife and after all the pain

at last there's grace upon the realm again

We live our dream once more and now it's on the wing

Eulogy for the slain we sing...

(and see a rising star)

Few percieve - a Being disappears...

As we know, it's taken place before

It is gone now - for a thousand years

We know what it's waiting for...

As the Comet rises, (it) takes new form,

then returns to rule and rearray

The eternal Cycle turns the world

as heroes rise... and fade away.
