Epzódio formed in Salvador, Bahia in 1998 with Leandro Almeida on vocals and guitar, Iuri Cunha on bass, and Ubirany Filho on drums. Their music pulls from Brazilian rhythms like samba and axé, mixed with funk and rock. They released their self-titled debut album in 2002.
Their 2006 album 'Daqui pra Frente' gave them one of their best-known songs. Other tracks like 'De volta ao passado' and 'Vivendo a Vida' show their range. Guitarist Paulo Santana joined the band in 2014.
Epzódio has worked with artists like Gilberto Gil and Carlinhos Brown. Their 2008 live album 'Ao Vivo no Morro do Cristo' and 2016's 'De Repente, Me Vi Longe' continued their run of releases.
