Equatronic came out of London's underground electronic scene in the 1990s. Their debut album 'Always the Same' arrived in 1997, with the title track becoming a recognizable piece in their catalog. The group included Tom Smith on keyboards and vocals, Matt Wright on drums and effects, and Lucy Eden as a vocalist and lyricist.
They followed up with 'Second Nature' in 1999, which leaned into more experimental territory. By 2002's 'Parallel Lines,' they had returned to a dance-oriented approach, working with vocalist Alison Moyet on that record. Their final album 'Uncharted Territory' came out in 2005.
Other songs in their repertoire include 'Assistant Views,' 'Awake,' 'Late Night Show,' and 'Nightmare.'
