Eric Gadd was born in Stockholm in 1956. He started singing in his teens, influenced by Motown and soul records, and later played with a band called Gaddgang in the late 1970s. His solo career took off in 1984 with the single 'Do You Believe In Me,' which became his best-known song. That track appeared on his self-titled debut album the same year.
He kept recording through the 1980s and 1990s, putting out albums like 'Heart of a Woman' in 1987 and 'The Right Way' in 1990. Other songs from his catalog include 'Floating On Love,' 'I Will Always Depend On You,' and 'Still Your Man.' He released another album, '24/7,' in 2007.
Gadd's voice has a smooth, soulful quality that fits the Swedish pop-soul style he helped popularize. He hasn't been as active in recent years, but his early hits still get played on Swedish radio.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
