Eric Hutchinson

Eric Hutchinson grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland and started playing open mics while at the University of Maryland. His self-titled debut came out in 2008, followed by albums like 'Modern Happiness' and 'Moving Up, Living Down' over the next several years.

Songs like 'Building You' and 'Forget About Joni' show his straightforward approach to writing. He's worked with musicians including drummer Scott Simon and bassist Josh Kauffman, keeping a steady band setup through most of his recordings.

In 2012, Hutchinson talked publicly about dealing with depression and anxiety, something that connected with listeners who recognized those struggles. He's continued putting out music, with 'Plain and Simple' arriving in 2019 and 'Daydreams' in 2023.
