Erick Mello formed his Brazilian Christian rock band in 2005 with his brother Everson and childhood friend Alexandre de Souza. They started playing energetic live shows around Guarulhos, where Mello grew up in a devout family. Their debut album came out in 2007, featuring the title track 'Não Seguirei Sem Teu Amor' that became a hit in Brazilian Christian circles.
That first album established their sound, which mixed rock with worship elements. They kept releasing records every few years, including 'Tua Graça Me Basta' in 2009 and 'Ao Rei dos Reis' in 2012. Another song people remember is 'O Rei da Azaração' from their catalog.
Mello and his bandmates publicly condemned those statements, but the incident still drew criticism and attention. They've continued putting out albums since then, like 'Espírito Santo' in 2018 and 'Infinito' in 2021.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
