Erick Oversize

Erick Oversize came out of Rio de Janeiro's favelas in the late 2000s, built around MC PK and DJ Boy. Their music mixed hip-hop with funk and pop, which didn't fit neatly into existing scenes at first.

In 2015, they broke through with 'Deste Uma De Hoe,' a song whose explicit lyrics drew criticism from conservative groups but connected with their growing audience. That track became something of an anthem for their fans, who called themselves Oversizers.

They've put out albums like 'Erick Oversize Vol. 1' in 2013, 'Oversize na Terra' in 2017, and 'Baile da Over' in 2019. Over time, their sound has picked up elements of trap and electronic music, and their lyrics have touched on social issues alongside their earlier themes. They've worked with artists like Anitta and Ludmilla.
