Erisson & Evandro

Erisson Ferreira de Andrade and Evandro Ribeiro dos Santos met in Fortaleza, Ceará in the late 1970s. They started playing local bars and theaters together, and released their first album in 1985. That self-titled record included 'O Boêmio,' which became one of their early hits.

Their songs often worked with straightforward, folk-inflected melodies, but the lyrics tended toward a more poetic register. Tracks like 'Saudades da Minha Terra-paulistinha' and 'Sinônimos' show that quality, plainspoken delivery wrapped around carefully turned phrases about ordinary life.

They kept recording through the late 80s and early 90s, putting out albums like 'Sonhos' and 'Voz do Coração.' Their music found a steady audience in Brazil without much of the flash that sometimes accompanied popular duos of the period.

Later years brought some legal disputes over songwriting credits, which complicated their catalog. But the early recordings, especially those first few albums, still surface on Brazilian radio and in covers by other artists.
