Erivaldo Dos Santos Dias came from Aracaju, Sergipe in Brazil. He started singing in church choirs as a young man, which gave him his first experience with music and faith. Later, he made a pilgrimage to Aparecida, a city known for its religious significance in Brazil.
That trip to Aparecida inspired him to write "Maria Mãe de Deus," a song dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The track became his most recognized work, connecting with listeners across the country. In 1995, he released an album called "Meu Coração."
He faced a copyright dispute around that same time, though he eventually won the case. Dias put out more albums in the late 1990s and early 2000s, including "Filho de Deus" in 1998 and "A Fé Não Morre" in 2001.
