Erivan Morais

Erivan Morais came from Muritiba, Bahia, and started writing songs as a teenager. He put out his first album in 1992, and two years later released 'Volta Seu Luiz,' the song that became his best-known track.

That 1994 single, a ballad about a woman waiting for her man to come back, connected with listeners and got him wider attention. Other songs like 'Vaqueiro do Sertão' and 'Enchendo a Cidade' followed, and he worked with other artists, including Josué Bom de Faixa on 'Ela Chama Na Bota.'

He kept recording through the late 90s and early 2000s with albums like 'Coração Cigano' and 'Só Quero Você.' His music drew from the regional sounds around him, though some early listeners weren't sure what to make of it at first.
