Es Por Ti was the musical project of Colombian singer-songwriter Juanes, formed in the late 1990s with bassist Andrés Restrepo, drummer Pável López, and keyboardist Camilo Echeverry. Their debut album "Fíjate Bien" came out in 1999, and the single "La Camisa Negra" became widely known. The band's name translates to "It's For You," which also happens to be the title of one of Juanes's solo songs.
They followed up with albums like "Un Día Normal" in 2002 and "Mi Sangre" in 2004, which included a collaboration with Nelly Furtado. Later records like "La Vida... Es Un Ratico" from 2007 addressed social and political themes, which sometimes stirred discussion. The group kept releasing music through the 2010s with albums such as "P.A.R.C.E.," "Loco de Amor," and "Mis Planes Son Amarte."
Juanes remained the central figure, handling lead vocals and songwriting. The music blended rock with Latin rhythms, anchored by Juanes's voice and lyrics.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
