Escapado formed in Madrid with David Otero on vocals and guitar, Javier Zubiaurre on bass, and Álvaro García on drums. They started playing together in a basement apartment, working on songs that would eventually appear on their debut album in 2008. Their second album, Ashes, came out in 2010 and included the track "7:58," which became their most recognizable song.
Their third album, Horizons, arrived in 2014 and featured "7:58" again. That song's somber tone and emotional delivery connected with listeners in Spain and Latin America. Other tracks from their catalog include "Abstand Auf Distanz," "Albedo," and the starkly titled "Coldblackdeathbloodmurderhatemachine."
They released two more albums after Horizons: Recollections in 2017 and Odyssey in 2020. Their music tends toward pop-rock with lyrics that lean into darker, more introspective territory.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
