Eskina Opuesta formed in Medellín in 1996 with Marcial Castillo on guitar and vocals, Jorge Londoño on bass and vocals, and Alejandro Bernal on drums. They started playing local bars and clubs, building a following before releasing their debut album 'Un Nuevo Sol' in 2001. That album included 'El Superman,' which became popular with Colombian youth.
In 2003, a song called 'El Bicho' touched on homosexuality and sparked media debate in Colombia. The band kept writing about topics like social justice and equal rights, which drew both support and criticism.
They followed up with albums like 'Misterio' in 2005 and 'Apuesta' later on. Other songs in their catalog include 'La Perdida,' 'La Selecta,' and 'Te Entregarás.'
