Eskoria formed in Mexico City in 1995, with an initial lineup that included René Tovar on vocals, Miguel Ángel Vallejo on guitar, Enrique Chávez on bass, and Juan Carlos Zamudio on drums. They built a following in the city's underground punk scene before releasing their debut album in 1997.
That first album was called "Desde El Primer Momento," which is also the title of one of their better-known songs. They followed it with records like "Jaque Mate" in 2000, "La Rebelión Continúa" in 2002, and "El Retorno" in 2007. Other songs in their catalog include "Eterna Lucha" and "Victima Del Sistema."
Their music has the straightforward hooks and rough edges you'd expect from punk, with lyrics that often touch on social issues and personal friction. They've faced some challenges along the way, but the basic facts are they started in Mexico City in the mid-90s and have been putting out records ever since.
