Espinoza Paz was born Isidro Chávez Espinoza in Angostura, Sinaloa, in 1981. He writes songs about heartbreak and betrayal that connect with listeners of Mexican regional music. His 2011 track 'Mi Venganza' became particularly well-known for its raw take on lost love.
His debut album 'El Cantautor del Pueblo' came out in 2008. Other releases include 'Te Olvido' from 2014 and 'No Me Vas a Perdonar' from 2018. Songs like 'Que Te Lo Crea Tu Madre' and 'Soltero Feliz' show his straightforward approach to writing about relationships.
In 2011, there were accusations that he had plagiarized a song from Colombian artist Diomedes Díaz. Paz denied it. The incident was noted, but his music kept finding an audience.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
