Estácio Lima formed in Rio de Janeiro in the early 2000s, a Brazilian band led by Rodrigo Lima's vocals. Their 2005 debut album 'Amor Ou Mais' gave them national recognition with its mix of samba, bossa nova, and pop.
In 2007, bassist Diego Souza died in a motorcycle accident. The band continued, with Flavio Lira eventually joining on bass. They released albums like 'Pra Você' in 2007 and 'Eterno Amor' in 2010.
Around 2012, there was a plagiarism accusation about borrowing from another artist's song. Estácio Lima denied it, saying their work was original. They kept recording, putting out 'Identidade' in 2013 and 'O Samba Que Eu Gosto' in 2016 with Rodrigo Lima, Flavio Lira, and Guilherme Borges on drums.
