Esthetic Education formed in 2011 around vocalist Jordan Warakomsky and guitarist Simeon Kotchnev, who met as teenagers at a jazz camp. The Los Angeles quartet's current lineup includes bassist Eli Wrankle, who joined in 2015, and drummer Micah Gordon, who came aboard in 2018.
Their music blends ambient textures with jazz-inflected melodies, anchored by Warakomsky's vocals and Kotchnev's guitar work. In 2015, they released the single "Walking in the Forest," which helped introduce their atmospheric sound to a wider audience.
