Eternity Hate formed in 2008 after some members came from a disbanded project. The lineup included vocalist Chris Kael, guitarist Max Necroth, bassist Alex De La Muerte, and drummer Erik Thor. They signed with Agonia Records and played local gigs to build a following.
Their debut album 'The Remains of the Light' came out in 2011. It featured the song 'Ashes to Ashes,' which combined black metal and melodic death metal elements. The track 'For Nothing' also appeared on that record.
Some listeners noted themes of death and despair in their lyrics. The band kept working in that vein with songs like 'The Reason To Not Die' and 'I Hope for You.'
