Evan Dando

Evan Dando is best known as the frontman of The Lemonheads, an alternative rock band that formed in Boston in the late 1980s with bassist Jesse Peretz and drummer David Ryan. Their early albums like 'Hate Your Friends' established a raw, introspective sound that caught attention in the indie scene.

The band's 1992 album 'It's a Shame About Ray' brought them wider recognition, anchored by the single 'Frying Pan.' That song, along with others like 'Being Around' and 'Buddy,' showed Dando's knack for wrapping melancholic observations in deceptively simple melodies. The Lemonheads have released several albums since, including 'Car Button Cloth' in 1996 and more recent work like 'Baby, I'm Bored' in 2020.

Dando's career has been marked by periods of public personal struggle, including a 1996 arrest for heroin possession. Through various lineup changes, with musicians like Bill Stevenson and Karl Alvarez joining later, he has remained the consistent voice and songwriter for The Lemonheads.
