Ever Dream

Ever Dream formed in the late 1990s with Evren Gündüz on vocals and guitar, Caner Ege on bass, and Burak Gürpınar on drums. Their debut album 'Elveda' established their sound, which leaned toward progressive rock with intricate arrangements. The song 'Dor' from their second album 'Sürgün' became their most recognizable track, known for its haunting melody and themes of longing.

In 2003, the band faced a plagiarism lawsuit over 'Dor,' which they eventually proved unfounded, though it affected their reputation at the time. They continued releasing albums like 'Bırakma' and 'Zaman,' and collaborated with Turkish singer Sibel Gürsoy on 'Koptu.' Their music often explored themes of love and loss, as heard in songs like 'Entre As Linhas' and 'Fantasmas.'

Gündüz's distinctive vocals carried much of their emotional weight, while Ege's melodic basslines and Gürpınar's drumming gave their compositions a layered, sometimes brooding quality. They never quite fit mainstream trends, which kept them somewhat on the margins despite a dedicated following. Their catalog includes tracks like 'Escuridão' and 'Não É Facil' that follow a similar vein of introspective, progressive rock.
