Everardo e Dinei

Everardo Nunes and Dinei Marques started playing together in Vitória, Brazil. They were performing at local bars and festivals before producer Valmir Borges took notice. Their debut album came out in 2001, sharing its name with the song "Amor e Desejo."

That title track became their most recognizable piece, a ballad about love and longing that connected with listeners. Another song people remember is "Desencontros." Their lyrics often dealt directly with relationships and the complications that come with them, which sometimes drew criticism for being too frank.
