Evildead

Evildead formed in Los Angeles in 1981, part of that city's early thrash metal scene. Their debut album 'Annihilation of Civilization' came out in 1983, and tracks like 'Future Shock' and 'B.O.H.I.C.A.' showed their raw, aggressive approach. The band's lineup included Bobby Gustafson on vocals and guitar, with Juan Garcia on guitar and Chris Reifert on drums at various points.

Their music had a straightforward intensity, with fast tempos and heavy riffing that drew from both metal and hardcore punk. The lyrics often dealt with dark themes, but the focus was on the music's direct impact rather than elaborate concepts. They released several albums through the mid-1980s, including 'Raging Death' in 1984 and 'The Awakening' in 1985.

After their initial run, Evildead returned with new material decades later, putting out 'Rise Above' in 2008. The band's early work, particularly songs like 'Annihilation of Civilization' and 'Branded,' still gets attention from thrash metal listeners who appreciate that era's unpolished energy.
