Excomungados formed in Madrid in 1977, around the time Spain was transitioning after Francisco Franco's death. They were part of that early Spanish punk scene, with Juan Lorenzo "El Gran Brujo" on vocals. Their track "Baratas" came out in 1978 and connected with people who felt overlooked, becoming something of an anthem.
