Excrecor formed in Germany around 1990, with Bernd "Bernemann" Kost and Frank "Frank" Gossow at the center. They were joined by bassist Jörg "Warhead" Uken and drummer Marcel "Schmier" Schirmer. Their early material mixed death metal's weight with grindcore's raw intensity.
Their debut album "Gorefest" came out in 1992, followed by records like "Ultraviolator" in 1994 and "Sickening" in 1996. The song "Attrition" appears on that 1996 album, built around punishing riffs and guttural vocals. Other tracks in their catalog include "Eridanus," "Parallel Harmonic Synchronicity," and "The Siren."
Their lyrics often dealt with violent and nihilistic themes, which drew criticism at the time. The band defended the work as an artistic reflection rather than an endorsement.
