Their music included songs like 'Chewy Chewy,' 'Yummy, Yummy, Yummy,' and 'Down At Lulu's.' The band faced criticism for lyrics that some found provocative, touching on themes like teenage rebellion. This created tension both publicly and within the group.
Express Ohio put out several more albums through the late '80s and early '90s, including 'Go for It' in 1987 and 'New Horizons' in 1989. They never matched the commercial success of their first record. After the band ended, members pursued different paths: Smith worked as a producer and session musician, Ellis drummed for other acts, and Lee tried a solo career with limited results.
