F13 formed in Brazil during the late 1980s, part of that country's thrash metal movement. The original lineup included vocalist Silvio Gomes, guitarists Átila Iamarino and Ricardo Bocci, bassist Gregor Hamu, and drummer Fábio Ribeiro. Their debut album 'Muderers of the Mind' came out in 1990, followed by records like 'Superstição' in 1992 and 'Sex, Drugs and Rock n' Roll' in 1994.
In 1994, they faced a blasphemy lawsuit over the song 'Sodoma e Gomorra,' though they successfully defended it. The band has seen lineup changes over time, with Gomes leaving in 1997 and Iamarino departing in 2006.
F13 has released about a dozen studio albums across their career. One of their better-known tracks is 'Lembranças,' a ballad that gets regular play on Brazilian rock radio. Other songs in their catalog include 'O Final do Mundo,' 'Recomeçar,' and 'Vou Te Esquecer.'
