F5 formed in London in the late 1990s with Ross Gregory on vocals, Stefan Olsdal on guitar, Jonny Whitfield on bass, and Dan Gore on drums. Their debut album 'Cause for Concern' came out in 2002, featuring the title track that became a hit with its ethereal sound and poignant lyrics.
In 2005, Whitfield left the band and was replaced by Robert Harris on bass. They kept recording and touring, putting out albums like 'The New World' in 2008 and 'The Dream' in 2012. Songs like 'Control' and 'Love is Dead' showed their mix of rock, pop, and electronic elements.
F5 announced an indefinite hiatus in 2016, citing creative differences and a desire to work on other projects. They never quite matched the commercial success of their early years but maintained a loyal following.
