Fabio e Fagner formed in Fortaleza in the late 1970s, with Fabio handling vocals and composition while Fagner played guitar. Their self-titled debut album came out in 1979 and included "Mais um Dia," a song that became a sertanejo staple. They worked in a mix of sertanejo, pop, and folk.
Over time they recorded more than twenty studio albums, touching on jazz and blues sounds at points. In the early 2000s they dealt with tax-related legal issues, which they eventually resolved. Another of their well-known tracks is "Pingo de Paixão."
They kept making music after that period, with Fabio as the main singer and writer and Fagner on guitar. Their work from the late '70s onward has stayed in rotation, particularly songs like "Mais um Dia."
