Fabio e Netto formed in 1988 in Salvador, Bahia. The duo, made up of Fabio Almeida and Antonio Carlos dos Santos, started playing in local bars and clubs. Their first album came out in 1992, and it included the song "A Vida É Bela," which became a hit.
They kept recording through the 1990s, putting out albums like Na Estrada in 1994 and Queremos Paz in 1996. In 1998, Netto was arrested on drug charges, which caused some trouble for the group. They continued working after that, releasing Pedaços de Nós in 2000 and Vida Que Segue later on.
