Fael da Sul formed in Porto Alegre in the early 2000s when childhood friends Leo, DJ Rato, and Mr. Bomba started making music together. They built their sound on old-school rap energy mixed with funk, soul, and Brazilian rhythms. Leo handled lyrics and frontman duties, DJ Rato worked the turntables and beats, and Mr. Bomba contributed vocals and writing.
Their songs like 'Sangue Vermelhão' and 'Tralha Milionário' show how they balanced social commentary with infectious rhythms. They collaborated with other Brazilian artists including MC Galo on 'Plantão da Boca' and Cesar on 'Agradeço a Deus Por Mais Um Dia'.
They released albums including 'Cotidiano' in 2002, 'Nação Hip-Hop' in 2007, and 'Contracultura' in 2015.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
