Fael & André formed in 2009 when singer-songwriters Rafael de Paula and André Marinho began working together. Their debut album 'O Que Você Fez Com o Meu Coração?' came out in 2012.
Their song 'Como Eu Era Antes De Você' was released in 2013 and became their most recognizable track. They also recorded 'Malandramente Você Mente' and 'Garotas Procuram' around this period.
Fael dealt with a vocal cord polyp at one point, which required vocal therapy. The duo faced some criticism about similarities between 'Como Eu Era Antes De Você' and traditional folk melodies, though they maintained it was original work.
