Fafá Santana

Fafá Santana came up performing in the streets and local gatherings around her neighborhood of Matriz, drawing from samba and funk rhythms. She formed Fafá Santana e Banda in 2005, working with a group of musicians to put together a sound that mixed pop and Brazilian grooves.

Her song 'Conselho de Amiga' came out in 2007 and connected with listeners, especially women, becoming a hit. Other tracks like 'Brincadeira Na Balada' and 'Campeão Dos Infiéis' followed, building out her catalog of upbeat, relatable material.

She released albums including 'É Só Pra Falar' in 2007, 'Fafá Santana' in 2009, and 'De Novo' in 2012. She worked with artists like Ivete Sangalo and Gilberto Gil along the way.
