Archive material and source history
Fagner Lima was born in Crato, Ceará in 1953. He grew up hearing traditional Brazilian rhythms like forró and baião, and started writing songs early, influenced by Luiz Gonzaga and Jackson do Pandeiro.
In the 1970s, he worked with producer Raimundo Fagner on the album "As Profissões" in 1976. The title track became widely known, and other songs like "Davi Dançou" and "A Dança da Pipoca" show his range with children's material and playful themes.
That experience informed his 1980 album "Um Homem na Prisão." He kept recording through the 1980s and beyond, with albums like "Pequeno Mundo" in 1985.
Over time, he collaborated with musicians like Fausto Nilo, Chico Buarque, and Milton Nascimento.
