Fair Play formed in São Paulo in 2004 with Fábio Souza on vocals, Ricardo Feltrin on guitar, André Caetano on bass, and Igor Arashiro on drums. They released their debut single 'Nação Brasileira' in 2006, and their first album came out the following year. The bassist André Caetano left in 2008, replaced by Fê Lemos.

Their 2010 album 'Românticos' included the song 'Nao Foi Dessa Vez,' which became a hit for the band. They put out four studio albums between 2007 and 2017, with titles like 'Nação Brasileira' and 'X.' Guitarist Ricardo Feltrin departed in 2019, and Guga Stroeter joined on guitar.
