Fake 05 formed in Rio de Janeiro during the mid-1980s with Fábio Lacerda on vocals and guitar, Mauro Valença on bass, and Gilmar Almeida on drums. They started playing live shows around the city, building a following without much label support at first.
Their debut album 'Contra-Ataque' came out in 1988. The title track 'Kontra-Ataque' drew some attention for lyrics that people argued about, but the band kept going. They put out a second album in 1990 called 'Eu Só Quero Entender,' which included the song 'Incompreensão.'
The title track 'Eu Só Quero Entender' became their biggest hit. It got played widely in Brazil and connected with listeners who responded to its melodic guitar work and reflective tone.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
